Poste: Transmission Network Design Engineer

For one of our customer, we are looking for Transmission Network Design Engineer.

Context of the job:
The Transmission Network Design Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, development and innovation of the Transmission Networks, consisting of PDH/SDH, SHDSL, DWDM, ATM and IP technologies.
As Transmission Network Design Engineer within the transmission Network Engineering team, you assist in introducing new technologies & services, in forecasting capacity, in providing 3rd level support to operations and in dimensioning and designing the network in a resilient, cost–effective and flexible way in accordance with technical requirements, quality standards and design guidelines.


Key Accountabilities:
To contribute to the Transmission Network Design activities by:
Developing and reviewing high and low level designs for the transmission network: design of links, trunks/paths and Transmission nodes
Translating intra- and extra-departmental requirements and volume forecasts into technical specifications and network expansions
Planning and dimensioning network capacity
To ensure the best BSS Network Service performance and optimization by
Making sure all projects and changes are implemented with a minimal risk for the live network
Identifying network areas at risk
Translating network performance requirements into technical specifications
Managing associated optimisation Projects; deliver in time, budget and quality
Analysing and solving 3rd Level Support related issues


Candidate Profile:
Civil or industrial engineer in telecommunications (or equivalent), with at least 3 years experience in transmission network design.
An in-depth understanding of transmission Networks architecture and environment (PDH/SDH, SHDSL, DWDM, ATM and IP technologies).
Experience in planning, designing and optimizing transmission networks.
A helicopter view, think pro-active, identify problems and tackle them in a planned way.
A result-oriented team player with good communication skills.
