Section 13-4 b) The procurement is for services that only a specific supplier can deliver as competition is impossible due to technical reasons. NTNU plans to procure a service delivery that comprises the collection of scientific geophysical and marine biological data in the Atlantic Ocean. Requires technology that can collect research data at great water depths. The electro magnetic equipment must tolerate water depths of 3000 m, in addition it must operate simultaneously with seismic listening equipment from the same boat. This combination has not been done before. Furthermore, there are extreme requirements for electricity strength (1000-4000 amp) on the electro magnetic sender, as well as great sensitivity and band width on the electro magnetic receivers. The receivers must also have both magnetic and electrical aerials. The boat must have room for the geophysical additional equipment (seismic), and equipment for collecting environmental data. Throughout knowledge and market surveys on the offered alternatives in the open market, we see that it is only Emgs that has equipment that fulfils the required technical requirements for |
